As the HR Director of a business in the motor trade, Natalie is passionate about developing and influencing a culture of equality to support the representation of females in our industry
The success of all associates in the company is a key driver in how the HR team deliver support, initiatives and strategies. As the HR Director of a business in the automotive industry, I am especially passionate about developing and influencing a culture of strong equality values to support the representation of females in a historical gender bias industry. Working in partnership with other females, automotive HR leaders and with the Leadership team at Cambria Automobiles. We look to celebrate the successes of our female associates, to inspire a new generation of females and build our strategies to evolve our approaches over the coming years.
The Cambria Automobiles board look to Inspire, Empower and Engage to support women to succeed in the automotive industry
I have been working within the Automotive industry since 2004, and have witnessed the evolution of women within the sector. I joined the business as a Senior HR Advisor, covering the South East, within 2 years I was given the opportunity to be promoted to HR Manager for the whole company. I was always supported and allowed to demonstrate my ability in order to receive this promotion. I was supported to achieve my CIPD Level 7 at this time, and I am a Chartered Member of the professional community.
My exposure to the strategic side of the business was increased to enable me to continuously develop a full range of professional skills whilst showcasing my full range of attributes to the business. It provided me with the opportunity to take on the role of Group HR Director. I’m immensely proud of both myself and the company to be the first female on the Operational Board and was entirely indicative of the importance placed on the Equality people agenda for the group.
Since then, my responsibilities have increased to incorporate the Learning and Development operation of the group; and to build an equality strategy as part of this.
I look to inspire other females in the business, those wishing to join the business, in my own team and my own 2 daughters that you can reach for your goals and succeed; I want to empower our associates and support the continued growth of this at Cambria Automobiles.
